1. If you had to sum up Providence Falls in just three words, no overthinking, what would they be and why?
Magical, romantic, and thought-provoking! I’m counting that last one as one word! The cast, the crew, the sets, the locations, the story … all of it was magical. This experience was truly a career highlight top to bottom. Romantic, because this story is a beautiful love story that spans 200 years. There’s yearning, there’s “will they/ won’t they” moments that have audiences gripping their seats, there’s a love triangle with two very dreamy, very viable options that leave audiences feeling conflicted. There are scenes that are steamier than the average Hallmark.. I mean, I can go on and on about the romance since it’s my favorite part. And thought-provoking because it deals with the idea of destiny- is our destiny or fate already set out for us, or do we have the ability and power within us to choose our own?
2. You know I love a good behind-the-scenes giggle… was there a moment on set where you completely lost it and couldn’t stop laughing?
Trying not to give spoilers…
I did a scene with Lachlan, that was a quiet, intimate moment, and in the middle of a take during his line, there was a cat just roaming around in the back of the take, and it was SO distracting. I started laughing and had to apologize to Lachlan and we had to restart the scene and get the cat out.
Also, Matty Finochio is one of the funniest people I know, and I think I broke in almost every scene I did with him because he’s such a character.
3. Your character’s journey is so layered and heartfelt. Was there a scene that pushed you in a way you didn’t expect — or maybe surprised you in how much you loved filming it?
Oh boy. I really enjoyed so many. It was an interesting challenge playing Cora in two different time periods, that are unrelated to each other since she doesn’t remember her past life in modern day. I think the most challenging scene that we collectively worked on was the Ireland meeting scene in the stairwell. Trying to find the perfect way to introduce Cora. It was a delicate balance trying to show her strength, her vulnerability, her fear, and her intrigue towards Liam all at the same time. But I was so lucky to have both Lucie and Jo there to help me find it.
Also, an honorable mention- the scene at the ball in 1844, where Cora and Liam are walking along the windows, almost didn’t happen. We had 5 minutes to shoot it, and had to get it just right. Thankfully we did because it’s one of my favorite shots from movie one!
4. Hallmark always picks the dreamiest locations. What was your favorite location on Providence Falls, and did anything happen there off-camera that would make fans go, “No way!”?
Vancouver is absolutely stunning, but obviously I have to choose Ireland as my favorite location because I had never been. We got to shoot in these gorgeous castles, in authentic 1844 clothing, and it just was such a romantic ambiance there. Off camera, the whole cast decided to do a pub crawl one night in Dublin, where we then ended up at late night karaoke singing together for hours on end! It was one of my favorite bonding experiences with everyone, and we made some very entertaining memories that night- pun intended lol
5. If you could sneak one prop or costume off set and keep it forever, what would it be and why?
I would steal Cora’s 1844 ball gown, no question! The dress was custom made for me, and every detail was impeccable! It was so stunning and made me feel like such a princess. I still dream about it!!
