Hot Butter Spiked Cider

Just the name of this cozy cocktail had me intrigued. Hot Butter Spiked Cider? Sign. Me. Up.

It’s that time of year and I’m ready for some cooler weather, holiday vibes, and of course, that means a cocktail that warms up the insides! When I saw this recipe on Food & Wine, I knew I had to give it a try. It was so simple to recreate and had our kitchen smelling ah-mazing! I highly recommend making a batch of this for a cozy fall Friday night at home or to entertain friends with at an upcoming seasonal gathering.

Ingredients:

5 cups apple cider

¼ cup unsalted butter

2 tablespoons dark brown sugar

1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

⅛ teaspoon kosher salt

1 ¼ cupspiced gold rum

6 orange peel strips

6 cinnamon sticks

Instructions:

This one is pretty simple! Remember, with any good warm cocktail, the liquor must be added last as to not burn off! All you’re going to need is a saucepan and a whisk.

Start by bringing the cider, butter, sugar, pumpkin pie spice and salt to a boil in a saucepan. Be sure to whisk often, you want to make sure all the flavors and spices are blended together.

Once you’re at a boil, remove the saucepan from the heat and add the rum and stir! Pour into your favorite fall glassware, garnish, and enjoy!
