Gut Health: Lemon Ginger Tonic

Gut health tonic with lemon and ginger

I’ve been loving all things related to gut-health and wellness these days. Not only for myself, but for my family as well! I came across this Lemon-Ginger Tonic recipe from Simply Paleo, and loved it so much that it’s a part of my morning routine!

It couldn’t be more simple to make! This recipe makes an entire week’s worth of the tonic in 10 minutes! Taking 10 minutes out of your week to put your gut health first is well worth it, in my opinion!

Gut health, ginger tonic

Ginger is one of the best things you can put in your body! It supports the immune system, it’s loaded with antioxidants, and can prevent disease with long-term consumption. Combined with the lemon, it promotes digestion, boosts energy and reduces inflammation!

Ingredients:

1 Large Lemon

4 Pieces of Medium Sized Whole Ginger (Peeled)

In a blender, whatever size you have is just fine, combine the juice of one lemon and four full pieces of peeled ginger. I’ve found it’s best to finely chop the ginger prior to blending. I like to add one tablespoon to my tea in the mornings- trust me, you won’t need more than one tablespoon-full. This stuff is seriously potent!

Enjoy!
