Easy Homemade Apple Cider

One of our favorite things about fall is having the cozy smell of homemade apple cider permeate through your home. This fall-inspired classic is a recipe that is not only super easy to throw together, but also filled with the most beautiful blend of spices with just the right touch of sweetness added to it. You won’t find another drink more perfect to keep on your stove when hosting guests, while also having every space of your home smell like fall! 


INGREDIENTS
12 large apples, unpeeled, sliced

2 large oranges, quartered

4 cinnamon sticks

1 tsp. whole cloves

1 tbsp. whole allspice

1 tbsp. nutmeg

3/4 c. packed brown sugar


DIRECTIONS

  1. Add apples, oranges, spices, and brown sugar to a large stockpot over medium heat.

  2. Cover ingredients with water by 2”.

  3. Bring the pot to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours, covered.

  4. Remove orange slices.

  5. Gently mash apples in the pot with a potato masher or spoon.

  6. Return to simmer and keep uncovered for another hour.

  7. Strain all solid ingredients out using a fine mesh strainer, making sure to press and squeeze fruits to get all juices out. Discard solids.

  8. Serve apple cider warm, and Enjoy!
