Jo's Holiday Sangria

Photography by Sara Magnolia

I am always up for a cold glass of sangria, and as you all know, I love adapting my recipes for different seasons or occasions.

So, it was only natural to give my traditional sangria an upgrade for the holidays! The addition of cinnamon makes this drink delicious and taste super festive — And it’s always a crowd-pleaser! The best part is that you can make it ahead of time and enjoy for it days.

Ingredients:

A handful of fresh cranberries

1 apple – cubed

1 large orange–quartered

A few cinnamon sticks

¼ cup of sugar

1 cup of brandy

1 bottle of sparkling cider

1 bottle of red wine

Directions:

1.     In a tall pitcher add the cranberries, apples, oranges, cinnamon sticks, and sugar

2.     Next add the brandy and sparkling cider

3.     Last add the wine

4.     Serve over ice

Tip: Your sangria is only as good as the wine you use in it, so grab something great tasting.

If you make this sangria, please share it with us at The Happy Place on Instagram! We would love to see it.
