Your Best Self: Sweatology

I can’t help it, I’m a bit of a wellness junkie. I’m always on the hunt for the latest and greatest tonics, experiences, and secrets that improve our health and well being. But as exciting as new technology can be, there is something to be said for the philosophies rooted in ancient practice. 

Our skin is the body’s largest organ and sweating it out is certainly one of the most effective and natural ways to detoxify our bodies. The history of ‘sweating it out’ goes as far back as you can imagine! I have always loved a good sauna. But lately my newest obsession is infrared sauna experiences.

At Sweatology in Tampa, I have learned so much about the benefits of an infrared sauna experience. Infrared heat penetrates the body deeper than the average sauna. And it does this at a lower, more tolerable temperature. It’s health benefits range from intense detoxification and joint and muscle relief to even improving the appearance of cellulite (score!)!!! They are even conducting studies now that are looking at the benefits of infrared heat for patients with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

When I’m in Tampa I’m a regular at Sweatology. I mostly feel lighter (it’s estimated a 30 minute session can burn up to 600 calories!) and more relaxed after my sessions. My skin feels extra detoxified and I find my little aches and pains go away when I’m consistent with my appointments! 

I love when all the stars align and I can receive genuine health benefits from things that also make me feel so good and BURN CALORIES!
