I made a trip to my local nursery to prep for some of the spring planting that I plan to do and was blown away by how beautiful this rosemary plant was. I knew it had to be mine! I lugged it home and started thinking of how I could enjoy it ASAP.

I came across this recipe for rosemary and grapefruit simple syrup and I thought I would give it a try. It sounded like the start of a really delicious drink. But a little goes a long way and I was left with a ton of it. It was too good to not share!

I started fishing around in the butler’s pantry and found these cute cork top bottles from a Halloween treat that I never got around to and...voila! Add some simple twine or ribbon and some cute tassels and I had the perfect party favor!

When Nick made his way into the kitchen he took one look and said ‘Oh, that is so you. Making party favors for our friends that are coming over to make pizza.’ I hadn’t even thought of it like that! It was just that the simple syrup was so delicious, I thought I should share! And for very little time and effort, these little favors turned out beautifully.

Instead of defending my ‘extra’ moment, it actually made me smile. If this is ‘so me’, I’m okay with it. I love making regular, everyday moments memorable. I love making my guests (even ones that pop in for a 5 o’clock cocktail or pizza making on the regular) feel special. If there is ever a glimpse into my happy place, it’s this.

What are your ‘so me’ moments? I would love to start exploring this idea!!! For now, I’m off to mix this syrupy goodness into my friend, Eva’s, grapefruit cocktail recipe. It first up for our spring ‘happy hours’ that we host on the regular!

Xx,

Jo
