My Florida Guest Room

One of my absolute favorite ways to make a room come alive is by the use of textiles. It could be the subtle warmth of a beautiful linen, the bold statement a vibrant pattern makes, or the piece that ties it all together. There is no shortage of great choices of pre fab panels from major retailers and I’m actually working on a blog post about how easy (and inexpensive) it is to give them a more custom feel. BUT if you’re interested in starting from scratch, it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg!

For one of our guest rooms in Florida I was on the hunt for something that would appeal to most and have a little fun while we were at it. My friend, Jen (and epic interior stylist), and I were in JoAnn’s fabrics looking for some inexpensive fabric for a backdrop for Emme’s 3rd birthday party when we happened upon this Nate Berkus print.

I loved the colors instantly and it became the inspo I needed to bring the guest room alive. I was also excited to finally be able to implement acrylic drapery hardware that I have since used many times!

I’m always looking for an excuse to use Caitlin Wilson’s buffalo check printed fabric and knew the navy would really give weight to the airy leaf motif.

Jen found this great piece of art from Wayfair (similar style here) and I brought it all together with a fun bohemian Justina Blakeney rug from LuLu and Georgia.  And the beaded chandelier tied together the tropical bohemian vibes of the panels and rug, but also complimented the buffalo check.

I really love how this room came together! It gets such pretty light throughout the day and the crisp and soothing color palate lends itself to making a guest feel at home and relaxed. Hope you all enjoy!

Xx,
Jo
