Wellness Tips
The past 6 months I have deeply overhauled the way I have prioritized my health. With the help of my friend, Pamelyn, I have also gotten over my fear of strength training and that has been a game changer for me. I ‘lift’ 3-4 times a week and tacked on walks with my girlfriends…therapy and exercise into one activity! As a result, I am feeling stronger, more energized, and motivated because I set realistic goals and gave myself the freedom to make it work for my busy life. You don’t need hours everyday, a gym membership, or tons of money to takes steps towards looking and FEELING like your best self. My philosophy about most things is ‘keep it simple’. We are constantly flooded with so much advice and recommendations that it is not only costly, it’s so unrealistic.
Oura Ring
This is without a doubt my new best friend. I know it’s a bit of an investment, but it checks so many boxes. I have lately tried to prioritize the quality of my sleep and with the help of my ring I’m able to see how much and what kind of sleep I’m getting. It also is helpful tracking my steps each day and it.
Supplements
The market is absolutely flooded with supplements and recommendations for how to take them. It can be totally overwhelming. So I have decided to keep it as simple as possible. I did get a blood test to determine what I was deficient in so I could prioritize those nutrients. But a good multivitamin, high quality Omega, and the right type of magnesium is a great place to start.
Protein
This has been another one of the largest changes I have made to my daily life. Like many of you, I’m prioritizing protein! I have gotten creative in the ways I have done this and really paid attention to the small stuff. I mostly try to get my protein from whole foods and relied on high quality protein powder to take me over the top. Two of my favorite brands are Ancient nutrition and Shaklee. They are both clean and taste great. I’m always sharing recipes for my favorite smoothies and these two options pair perfectly with them!
Sauna and Red Light Therapy
I understand that these two practices aren’t readily available to everyone, but since it has been something I have implemented, I wanted to included them. Outside of the mostly love them because it allows me to really check out and relax.
