Fall Nails With Christiana

Hello, Happy Place! Christiana Hooks from The Mani Club here. I’m excited to be back to share more mani inspo with you! Whether you make the weekly trip to the salon or you’re more of an at home mani person, I’m here to give you some ideas for fabulous Fall nails. I love this time of year. The leaves are changing, the weather is finally cooling down, it feels great to break out those sweaters and spark up the fireplace. If you’re anything like me, you want the perfect manicure to go with each Fall mood. One for your pumpkin patch date, one for the chili cook-off and another for your spooky Halloween vibe. Well, we’ve got you covered for all of that and more. So, light your pumpkin spice candle, get comfy and let’s dig in!

NAKED NAILS

“Barely there” manicures might be trendy right now thanks to beautiful brides like Sofia Richie Grainge, but for some they’re also necessary. It’s good to take a breather from gels, acrylics, press-ons and all. When I do, I always find myself reaching for a light, delicate polish, one that feels like a palate cleanser for the nails. There are so many beautiful sheers, clears and jellies to choose from to create this natural look, and finding the right one for you is truly a personal process. I love this sheer by Cirque Colors called “Chiffon”.

GOING GREEN

There are so many gorgeous greens that work well in the months of Fall, army (or olive) and forest are two of my favorite shades. They are so unexpected and work so well during the transition into cooler weather. This army green is called “WKF” by Olive & June. The darker green is called “Pine-ing For You” by Orly.

MILKY WAY

Milky manis are another major trend flooding our feeds. You can opt for the classic, soft white or you can add a little flavor to your milk. The recipe is simple. You use a creamy sheer as the base, then add a few drops of an accent color. Mix to your liking and paint. You can also use a layering technique to create the look. The lavender, strawberry and blueberry milk manis were all super popular over the Summer. However, chocolate milk is the perfect way to transition this trend to Fall. The milky white pictured here is called “Lucy” by Zoya, and the chocolate milk mani is a mix of “BEB” and “JJ”, both by Olive & June.

CHROME

If you’re looking for an awesome, edgy mani, this is it. Chrome is great all year round, but it feels like it was almost made for spooky season, especially if you’re not a fan of ghosts or black cats on your nails. You can chrome up any mani. I’ve seen pink, gold, purple, all kinds. However, there’s just something extra cool about a perfect, shiny, gun metal grey. This can be achieved with a layer of black polish topped with a silver chrome powder. I used “Cateye” by Olive & June and OPI Chrome Effects powder.

MAGNETIC MANI

If you’re looking for an easy way to level up your DIY mani, this is it. With the pairing of magnetic polish and a magnetic wand, you can turn a basic mani into pure magic. Velvet and Cat Eye nails have been all over Tik Tok lately and both can be created easily with this same kit. Not only are these three-dimensional manis beautiful to look at, they are way too much fun to paint. FYI, if you have kids, they will also be fascinated by this process. “Mood Ring” (green), “Halo” (silver) and “Paradox” (purple) are all by Cirque Colors, as well as the magnetic wand that will be sold separately. By the way, “Mood Ring” could be an amazing Halloween mani!

RED OCTOBER

Red is a color that can be worn 365 days a year, and believe me, I try. In my opinion, red is the most versatile polish color. It looks good on everyone and any shade of red can be worn any time of the year. However, I feel like this cozy time calls for a deeper, darker red. These two beautiful options are called “Brick” and “Luxe Loafer”, both by Olive & June.

MAUVE MOMENT

A mauve manicure just screams Fall. It’s this season’s equivalent of a neutral pink mani. I love to wear these rosy hues individually but it’s also fun to create a gradient ombre using multiple shades. Pictured here individually is “Shacket” by Olive & June. Featured in the ombre from thumb to pinky is “JJ”, “Shacket”, “World Lit”, “Study Hall”, and “It’s Chilly”, all by Olive & June.

WARM TONES

These tones are quintessentially Autumn. They are the colors of the falling leaves, the pumpkin patch, the apple orchard, the Thanksgiving table, they’re everywhere this time of year. These shades have also become some of the hottest for nails, as we see a rise in coffee themed manis like Latte or Iced Coffee nails. “Tip Your Barista” (brown), “Caramel Budino” (tan) and “Flowerpot” (orange) are all by Olive & June.

METALLICS & IRIDESCENCE

Glitter and all of her sparkly friends are usually reserved for the Winter holidays, but I like toincorporate a little bit of shimmer into my manis beforehand with a subtle metallic French or neutral iridescent polish. Full disclosure, I’m pretty terrible at nail art. So, I was very relieved when Olive & June launched their Nail Art Pens. They made my mani life so much easier. I used the “OJPAS” and “OJSM” pens to create this geometrical French tip with “BEB” as a base coat. “Lucky Oyster” is the light, iridescent grey pictured here, also by Olive & June.

FEELING BLUE

We may be more accustomed to seeing warm colors in Fall, but just as the weather is cooling down, so can your mani. A dusty midtone blue is also very chic for this time of year. This one is called “Gotta Bounce” by Orly. And on that note, I’ve also gotta bounce! It’s always a blast to come spend time at The Happy Place! Thanks so much for letting me share my Fall faves with you!
