Our Valentine's Day Jar Tradition

A few years ago I gave Nick a little jar of ‘treats’ for Valentine’s Day. It had ‘redeemable’ notes like ‘back scratch for more than 30 seconds!’ and ‘cash in for one game of ‘H-O-R-S-E!’. Nick tore through that jar, but it was actually really fun because he was genuinely pumped up for each treat. And it’s those little things that mean the most to him.

Since then, I started a little tradition of having a family jar that we rotate drawing from until empty. It has the tiniest of treats or suggestions on each card and it really does make Valentine’s Day a sweet celebration.

My girls get so excited to deliver our neighbor fresh lemons or being in charge of taking the dogs for an extra long walk. I’m always scrounging around for the ‘30 minutes of uninterrupted ‘me’ time’ and happy to double up on favors to ensure I get it!

Do you have any Valentine’s Day family traditions???

Happy Valentine’s Day!!!

Xx,

Jo
